Primary Foot
2003, dolomite, 33*20*20 cm
I design or think up almost all my sculptures in advance, make a drawing or model, and look for a stone. The reverse method is that a piece of stone inspires the sculptor and points the way to the shape. I tried this here: I made the sculpture from a stone that reminded me of a foot, with minimal treatment of the piece of stone. The sculpture Water, from 2005, is made in the same way.
